On April 23th 2021 the celebration of international book day took place in the Civic Lab, in partnership with Lamatna Ketab association. The evening witnessed numbers of readings and performances. The attendees were between 650-700 persons. The occasion was full of fun and peaceful, and the attendees expressed their satisfaction of the event.
According to the preset plans, the celebration of the World Book Day was held, as the ceremony included a number of readings and activities that included: silent reading Group breakfast, book fair, cinematic projection and distributing prizes for the short story competition. Also in partnership with Al Dain University students
presenting a research paper on the importance of reading and reading obstacles in East Darfur State. Finally the event was featured in the Diyar newspaper and attended by the media, represented by East Darfur Radio and Sudan TV.
Recommendations:
Designing events that are more inviting and meet the needs of more female participants.
Working on inviting different diverse segments of the community through the media.
Expanding the participation space for youth and volunteers of both gender.
